Anders inspects the broken sign on Montgomery Road
I recently noticed the remains of a broken road sign at the end of Montgomery Road near the junction with Machon Bank Road. All that was left was the stump of the sign sticking out of the pavement
I contacted Sheffield City Council’s Streetforce about this and they have informed me that a new sign post will be installed within the next four weeks. They also assure me that Yorkshire Electricity Distribution Ltd (YEDL) have also been out, made the damaged stump of the old sign safe and will shortly disconnect the sign completely, so no one should be injured in the time before the new sign appears.

In the area where I live it would take ages for this sign to be replaced. I doubt if any safety measures would be taken either to prevent injury on the stump.
